For the Stanford GSB Sloan Fellow Chinese New Year Party on this Friday, Feb 08，2013.

At this historical moment, as we are turning the page for a new chapter for the Stanford Sloan Fellow program, it's important to remind ourselves where we stand in the universe. For people in similar career stage as me, this is the best program in the world, bar none.

In the first week of the third quarter of my 12-month Sloan academic year, I find myself spending at least 2-3 hours every day this week in a perpetual (often futile ) attempt to optimize my courses for this quarter. The exhaustive and reiterative process has been very tiring, but much needed.

Some Stanford lecturers and alumni are involved in the business of search fund, but this is one type of investment vehicle that is often not well understood by people from outside. The model makes sense to the three parties involved in the following ways ...

• Typical equity split after 1st round in the Valley:

Reflected from today's S353 Entrepreneurship: Formation of New Business, Case SHED. 3 is the best number for the size of a startup team (even Google's Brin and Page had to bring Schmidt to balance out). 4 is usually not very stable. Do not split equity equally. It rarely works out.

I paused for a while to mull over whether I should sell all my textbooks from the summer and the fall quarter, or I should keep any individual textbook. After pondering for 0.01 second, I decided to sell them all.

My final evaluation for the Fall Quarter courses, following the CIDRAE framework I developed in the summer. It's a somewhat scientific approach to validate my favorite courses: Real-life Ethics, Election 2012, Political Communication, Organization Behavior, and Generative Leadership.

On Dec 12, 2012, our rock band of Sloan Class of 2013, The Spillovers, debuted with a four-song set list at the end-of-quarter Dinner & Dance party for the Sloan class. After 14 days of intense rehearsals during the nerve-breaking final-exam weeks, we had a blast and shredded the night away.

Brown Bag Lunch, or BBL in short, is a tradition in Stanford Sloan Fellow Program and also in Stanford GSB at large. It's a lunch session where everyone brings lunchbox and listens to a classmate's self-introduction called BBL.
